Let's Go Surfing

This is a photo diary of sorts, taken on a particularly hot and sunny day by my best friend, Chesca. I say this all the time, but it's been a while. I hope everyone's having a wonderful summer; mine's been an incredible ride of ups and downs thus far. I've been spending a lot of time with my favorite people in the world and making lots of memories, listening to music in my bedroom with my best friends at two am and dancing (or at least trying to) until dawn. Exchanging stories about everything--boys, friends, and family--and strengthening my friendships with three certain girls I consider my sisters. Between us there is a trust that I know won't be easy to break.

Jam sent me a quote earlier, and it goes like this: "One day someone will walk into your life and make you see why it never worked out with anyone else." Most people would probably attribute that to a lover, but I find myself thinking about my friends. Life isn't always as romantic as it sounds, and maybe I'm feeling low, but then the next thing I know is that I'm sitting in a room filled with the people I love and realizing that wow, this is how it is, and this is how it should be. And then I realize that I couldn't have asked for a better life. It's a beautiful thing to come to terms with, and I guess that's the source of my happiness. It isn't so much as the material things that keep me smiling, no matter how many people would like to believe so (I wasn't raised to put too much importance in things rather than people). It's the contentment of being surrounded by the right people, and I can only hope you guys will one day find that, too.

A special mention to Angel is well-deserved as well. You are heaven-sent.
