New Year

Ha! We survived December 21, 2012. That's a good enough reason to be celebrating, right? While we didn't exactly survive anything (maybe except the disappointment that came with nothing actually happening on the most hyped day of the decade), I'm still patting the humans on their backs for a job well done at scaring each other shitless and failing to predict their own due date.

In a few hours, there will be flying cars, and cruising through our galaxy would be possible. I mean, that's what the New Year is supposed to bring about, right? Super cool technology that wasn't possible/available in the year before? Wrong. Not a lot of change happens in the few hours it takes for us to go from December 31, 2012 to January 1, 2013 - except maybe for the fact that it's a new day, new month, new year. It's really nothing more than a change in numerics, but what the New Year does bring forth is a sense of renewed hope and another chance to improve yourself. I don't get why we fuss over the New Year - every day is a new chance; why wait twelve months? But I guess it's just the mere fact that everyone will be celebrating this minor change that makes everyone want to jump on the 'tomorrow, I will be a better person' bandwagon.

A lot of people end up ditching that bandwagon as soon as the first week of the year passes. Some might last for a month or more, but we always eventually end up going back to our usual selves. We make ourselves feel better by promising to actually change the following New Year, and it's a vicious cycle from there. Good for you if you actually stuck to your New Year's Resolutions - you're the kind of person the rest of the 99% of the human population looks up to. However, I, myself, am guilty of such mentality. My Project 365 earlier this year (and countless others) is enough proof to prove my laziness. I am unfortunately a walking advertisement for ningas cogon. I should probably look into getting them to rename it as Nina's Cogon, don't you think?

But to hell with that mindset. This will sound very hypocritical of me, but I want to prove to myself (more than anyone else, really) that I can change and become a better person. I will stop (or at least try to) being lazy and actually finish whatever project I have planned for myself. I will most likely tweet about my progress, so if you find that I am on the verge on giving up, you have my permission to virtually slap me in the face. 2012 has been a whirlwind ride (more on that later), and I will make sure it is only just the beginning. I'm getting extremely excited just thinking about all the happenings planned for 2013 - the Dear Creatures shoot (Hi Monica!), Birdy's concert with Lakyn and Lewis Watson, the One Direction concert in Australia, and future 1DPH events. Come what may, you know? I'm ready to face whatever hardships or good fortune 2013 is going to throw at me.

I'm also very thrilled about being given my own domain, so a buttload of thanks to ate Mary for buying it for me! If you're reading this, thanks for being so nice and helpful! I hope Harry Styles and/or Nick Jonas kisses you full on the lips for the New Year.

I originally intended this post to be a review of 2012 and a '2013 Bucket list' post, but then I got sidetracked, so allow me get back to the right path.

2012 has been the best year of my life so far. I have met so many new people that I can no longer live without. I may have lost a couple of friends in the process, but I'm sure it is for a purpose (and hopefully that purpose is for growth). I have gone through a lot of hardships as well, if you consider having a bunch of other strangers your age send you abuse through the internet, that is. I am thankful, though, because these people have made me open my eyes to the real world - and it is one that is out to get you. But, of course, with all bad things come a hidden blessing. I'd like to think I am a stronger and much wiser person than I was a year ago. I will continue to try and take things in stride, and as a reminder to anyone who is going through similar problems: things can only hurt you if you let them.

So cheers to the New Year! Expect more frequent blog posts (*fingers crossed*), vlogs, and whatever I come up with this coming year. I'd love to hear about your 2013 Bucket list, so feel free to comment below and maybe we can compare! I hope everyone has a fantastic time tonight - my mom let Ozni and I wear my onesies to the party. Enjoy yourselves, and be sure to push through with at least five things on your bucket list this year!

P.S.: Enjoy this playlist I made for you guys!

Merry Christmas!

This is a late Christmas post, but I wanted to share the photos with you guys anyway. I spent most of the 25th of December sleeping until the late afternoon, which is basically what I do all day really... I had dinner with my family and that's about it. I will hopefully blog a lot more frequently this coming New Year as it's part of my New Year's Resolution, but I'm sure I'll ditch it before the fourth month even comes around. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday :)

I tried vlogging. I think it turned out pretty well. You can watch the video below :) It's basically me explaining how I go about my look shots and take photographs. I had a pretty awkward time filming it (the bloopers at the end show how many times I had to reshoot stuff), and it was so hot, but it was a lot of fun. I really do like vlogging now. I think I've always liked it but just never got around to actually trying it. :P Hopefully this won't be my last, yeah? Anyway, the photos above were taken while I was filming. I didn't expect them to turn out as nicely as they did, so I'm pretty happy. You can watch the video below.

Snail Mail

Today, I received the loveliest circular-themed package from Eula. Most of the items within the envelope were collected from her recent trip to Bangkok. The items were all so cute and I was honestly flattered by all the effort she put into the whole thing.

She was also clever enough to write me a letter on the back of a map of Bangkok (wherein she also encircled her favorite spots and labeled them). Eula had told me that she was a fan of The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy, like I was.

She also gave me a Poodle necklace made out of spheres, so we were still pretty much in theme! I get really giddy knowing that she went out of her way during her trip to Bangkok to get me something even if we barely knew each other.

Stiiiiiiickers!!!!!!!

And last but not least, a pretty notebook. It reminds me a lot of Alice in Wonderland (I think that's what the design is based after), and I'm in love with the cover's texture... I may or may not have been rubbing it when I first got it.

Anyway, that's all I have to share with you guys. To Eula, if you're reading this - thank you so much! I really appreciate your gifts and I hope you had lots of fun in Bangkok. <3

Levitate

Photobucket
I finally got around to trying out levitation shots! It was really tiring to run back and forth from the tripod and try to keep my balance, but I think it turned out to be worth it. The morning sun was beating down on me, and it was extremely hot (curse you, Philippine weather) but Hideki once told me the best time to shoot was either in the morning or late afternoon. Seeing as my messed up sleeping schedule kept me from staying awake before the golden hour, I took my lazy bum out to our backyard and took photos.

Seeing as my photography skills are erratic (sometimes my shots turn out really well; sometimes they don't) , I'm pretty proud of the outcome. This batch has got to be my favorite set of photos so far. I know that makes me sound really full of it, but I quite frankly don't care.

romper, spiked headband, skirt, and bracelet - indiestructible / shoes - call it spring

Most of the items I'm wearing could be purchased off my online store (link above). I'm absolutely in love with the clothes I'm selling, and I would keep them if I could...

But I can't. *insert ugly sobbing here*

So instead, I'm mixing and matching them up for lookbook purposes. I'm a cheater. Hahaha.

And if it isn't obvious yet, levitation shots are my new favorite thing. You can view more photos here and I'll see you all in Hogwarts.

P.S.: I've made a Facebook page for my photography + blog. A lot of people have been adding me on my personal, but I can't accept you guys due to privacy reasons. Click here to like the page!

I was pretty excited to start wearing the sweater Chesca had given me, so I took the PA my mom had hired for me (I'm not as stuck up as that makes me sound! My mom was just tired of having to work with me for Indiestructible) outside and taught him (or her, rather) the basics of photography. I think they turned out pretty well! I've always been joking around saying I wanted my own personal photographer (however stuck up that sounds), so I guess I kind of do now!

I'm really in love with the studded details and the ombre effect the sweater has. I could just throw it on and not worry about looking under-dressed whenever I felt too lazy to plan an outfit. It's really a versatile piece - or at least in my opinion.

As for the flower crown, it's something I made for Indiestructible. I was experimenting with different kinds of flowers and that's what I ended up with. If you're interested in purchasing it, you can attend the BOHEMIA festival on the 17th or the 18th of November. I will be there, selling other flower crowns, bracelets, clothes, and more! :) I'm really really excited about this event as it's my first bazaar ever + it's a Coachella-inspired event. Local artists will be performing, there will be film screenings, and a whole lot of other stuff so I highly suggest you guys attend if you can! :)

It will be held at the NBC Tent in Taguig City. I will be there around 8PM on the first day. :)

Aaaaaand meet Juicy, my personal assistant. I think it's pretty weird for me to have a PA because I'm only fourteen, but it's nice to have a helping hand when it comes to my mini-business. I took some photos of him too (most of which could be considered outtakes) and he poses better than I do. Vogue, anybody?

Behind The Scenes at the Indiestructible x It's All About Hue Shoot

This is pretty late but here's the BTS video from my recent shoot with Nikita Conwi, Armaine Yapyuco, Sarah Carlos, Kyla Zuñiga, and Maita Atienza for Indiestructible. :) You can check out the photos here. It was an amazing experience. A little tiring, but a lot of fun.
