Schrödinger's cat

Schrödinger's cat is a thought experiment, sometimes described as a paradox, devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. The scenario presents a cat that might be alive or dead, depending on an earlier random event. MORE
I think everyone is aware of the fact that I am in love with cats. I have a habit of meowing at random times, but don't even bother asking why, because I don't know either. This is just a quick update to let you guys know what I've been up to lately. I'm currently obsessing over Plato's Allegory of the Cave, reading Cracked articles in bed, and reading about conspiracies. In other words, the usual.

I recently modeled for Fashion Strikes for their newest collection. The clothes were so so pretty! I can't wait for you guys to see them. Head on over to their Facebook page to see what else they have in store!

The Fault in Our Stars

photo blog2_zps4d4e0d37.jpg Dropped by a really pretty (albeit hidden) store for the first time yesterday. It was suggested to me by one of my co-PFB members, Cheska Balingit.

The Most Astounding Fact

The atoms of our bodies are traceable to stars that manufactured them in their cores and exploded these enriched ingredients across our galaxy, billions of years ago. For this reason, we are biologically connected to every other living thing in the world. We are chemically connected to all molecules on Earth. And we are atomically connected to all atoms in the universe. We are not figuratively, but literally stardust.

— Neil deGrasse Tyson

It was particularly starry a few nights ago, so I laid myself down in our backyard on some towels (which were placed over plywood), brought out my tripod and camera with me, then started shooting. I'm pleased with how the photos turned out, although there's so much more room for improvement. I don't think a lot of people know this about me, but I am absolutely in love with the stars and the outer space. I go through a lot of websites (Hello AboveTopSecret!) and spend hours reading posts about the universe and all the peculiarities within it. I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! I'll leave you with two of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen. Till the next post!

New In

الشفاء قد لا تأتي بسرعة، ولكن سوف يأتي.
“Healing may not come quickly, but it will come.”

I was recently taken thrift shopping by ate Khai Nunag and the rest of my co-PFB members. We all kept holding things up, then going "____ this is so you!" Hahaha. I've never actually tried it before. It was a lot of fun going through racks of clothing, looking for something that tickled my fancy. :-)

My goal was to complete an entire outfit that was thrifted, which I successfully did. I got a Christmas-y sweater for php60 (US$1.50), a velvet skirt for php75 (US$1.80), and the shoes pictured above for php250 (US$6.15). All in all, it cost me php380 which is about US$10.

At first, I was pretty reluctant to buy anything, but I'm really glad I did. Most of the people I know wouldn't be caught dead in thrift stores, and some might even make fun of me for it, but I find that there is nothing wrong with thrifting! It is a really good way to save money, and you don't have to worry about having the same things as everyone else. Plus, you can go DIY crazy on the things you buy, so...

The shoes pictured above remind me a lot of Alexander Wang. I just about squealed the moment I laid my eyes on them! They fit me perfectly, too, as if they were custom made. Scoooooooooore. Expect an outfit post featuring all of the items I got really soon, and possibly a thrifting vlog (because a lot of people on twitter asked for it). :-)

Oh, and those are most of my bracelets. I organized them all today, but some are missing. I rarely get to wear all of them, so I might sell them on Indiestructible. :-) 'Til the next post!

P.S.: My dad got me the newest Macbook Pro with the retina display! It is so beautiful! /Apple Geek
P.P.S: I made a new playlist! You can download it here.

Clark Is It interview

So if you're unaware, I am part of a group called Pampanga's Fashion Bloggers. We're a couple of likeminded people with one common goal, and that is to raise fashion consciousness and try and motivate others to express themselves through their clothes and/or blogging. 2012 was a pretty hectic year for us, what with all the fashion shows, bazaars, charity events, and local collaborations lined up. It's now 2013, and we're just getting started.

Yesterday, we were interviewed by Clark Is It for their upcoming site. Here are just a couple of photos I took on that day.

Wanderlust

Anyone who knows me well enough is probably aware of the fact that I have an irrational fear of flying and airplanes. It is mostly due to the occasional turbulence one encounters on a plane ride (I have a habit of staring at the sky while at the airport, glaring at the clouds as if it'd make them go away), and the fact that there were over thirty thousand feet of empty space between the ground and myself. I used to hate traveling to different countries because of that same reason - which sucked because my parents love it. I find flying to be very unsettling, so why am I suddenly itching to get on one and lose myself in an entirely new environment (specifically Australia and/or California)?

Let there be morning

Let There Be Morning - The Perishers

"Let the sun rise
Let the birds sing
Let there be light
Let there be morning"

Yesterday, I woke up at 8 PM. I was unable to see the sunlight leak through the windows of my bedroom, due to having fallen asleep at 5 AM that same day. I tended to oversleep whenever I felt particularly sad - with or without a reason. I'm guessing it was my defense mechanism mixed with my laziness and love of sleeping. It's not that I was physically tired, really. I didn't need to 'rest', seeing as all I've done this week is sit at home, talk to my friends on Facebook, and watch movies.

It's more of my subconscious telling me: "If you sleep long enough to wake up by the time everyone's about to go to bed, then you've just avoided a day's worth of social interaction." But don't get me wrong. I am not anti-social, or a loner of any sort. If you ask my friends, they'll honestly tell you that I am one of the loudest, most annoying person out there, and that I never run out of things to say.

You shoot me down, but I won't fall

L-R: Angel, ate Abbey, me, Julia
Yesterday, I went out with three of my good friends, namely Julia, Angel, and ate Abbey. We hung out in Greenbelt, where we pretty much just window-shopped, took photos, and walked around until our feet hurt.

It was a long overdue day out for ate Abbey and I, actually. All our previous plans never pushed through due to clashing schedules, but this one thankfully did! I think it is worth mentioning, though, that this one was planned really quickly and at the very last minute.
