Year-ender

See, I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to write a year-ender post. I wasn't sure what I wanted to say, what I wanted to talk about, if I'd have motivation by then. But 2013 ends only once in a lifetime, so I thought I might as well. I have a family dinner to attend to, so it'll short.
2013 has been the best year of my life. From meeting and speaking to my heroes last October, becoming a Dr. Martens product tester, being featured on the front page of Yahoo!, and to having been accepted into Stache Magazine (which I have wanted to check off my bucket list since their very first issue), I have been blessed with so much opportunities since the year started. It goes without saying that I'm very appreciative - of my parents, my friends, and the readers of this blog - for all the support you guys have given me. Allow me to be cliché and admit that I would not be where I am today had it not been for you guys. So, thank you for sticking with me throughout the entire year, from my disappearances, to my reappearances. Thank you for being there through thick or thin, up or down... left or right? I don't know. But what I do know is that you guys have never left my side since this whole blogging journey began, and I will always be grateful. I mean, what's a blogger without her readers, right? I've realized a lot of things this year, and I can say that I've matured quite a lot since this time last year. Of course, every day is a learning process for me, so I have committed and will continue to commit mistakes - sorry about that - but it only goes to show that I'm only human, like the rest of you. I'm no different from your typical fifteen year old, regardless of what my Instagram feed or my tweets or my blog posts or whatever makes you assume I'm not. I'm getting quite emotional. A lot of you guys have gone through some tough times this year, so if you're reading this right now, you're alive and still kicking and I'm so so proud of you for staying strong. It takes a lot of strength to get through all the bullshit people like putting others through, so give yourself a pat on the back for being brave. I, myself, am guilty of choosing to sleep the entire day away to avoid any sort of social interaction. Y'know, when you're having one of those days where things just don't feel right and you feel like you need a break. I'm telling you now that it's okay to feel that way. You're allowed to feel bad and mope around, for as long as you pick yourself up and get back on your feet when you're ready. Things will get better, but only if you work to make it better. I want you all to remember that for the next year, and the next next year, and the year after next next year, and maybe the rest of your life. The universe will not put you through pain, will not put obstacles to block your path, if it knows you cannot overcome it. And I hate to sound preachy, but that's true. And every time you work to get yourself out of the rut, you will be vindicated and blessed and oh my God, I promise you, things will be amazing. So to you, my dear reader, stay strong because you're beautiful and I love and care about you. I may not be able to help you out personally, but these words are for you. For all of you. Whatever adversities life throws at us, we will get through it, holding each other's hands (through the internet, like Skype or whatever, because I can't travel to all of you and hold your hand for an hour each even if I wanted to) and we will scream 'COME AT ME BRO' and headbutt it and... OK, did I ruin the moment? I have a lot to say, but I really have to get going, so I'll leave you with the rest of these photos that my best friend, Chesca, and I took a while back. To 2014, and the opportunities that lie ahead. 2014 - COME AT ME BRO!!!!!!

  5. Beautiful- both the blog post itself and the blogger. Thank you for being such a huge inspiration to me. Seriously, without you, I wouldn't even have bothered to muster up the courage to begin my blog. And because of my blog, I've been able to experience so many new things and I was able to look at things at a new perspective (oddly) but thank you, thank you, thank you! More power to you, Nina!
