MYX Music Awards 2013

Thank you so much to Ivory Music & Video and MYX Philippines for inviting my co-officers and I to the MYX Music Awards 2013! Unfortunately, only ate Helen and I were able to attend (plus Ozni!), but the rest of 1DPhil were with us in spirit.
Moving on, I'd like to make it known that while I am a big fan of music, I was never particularly interested in OPM. It's not a sick case of colonial mentality - just so we're clear. I have a handful of favorite OPM songs, one of them being Ang Huling El Bimbo by Eraserheads. With that being said, I'm sure it's obvious that I'm not exactly in the 'know' or updated with the OPM industry and its artists, which - thanks to the MMMAs - I slightly regret. Promising new faces have surfaced, and I'm glad that they're proving to everyone that OPM is not dead. There are some bands like Never The Strangers, and She's Only Sixteen - both of which have now become a part of my long list of favorites. There's Luigi D'Avola (and his pinch-able cheeks, according to Angel), Inky Callora, Reese Lansangan... An endless list of both young and old, deserving of everyone's attention as they make a name for themselves. I highly doubt it'll hurt to take a break from your daily fangirling over One Direction or what have you, and listen to at least one of the artists I've mentioned above. You won't regret it. I swear. (Isn't Luigi D'avola (pictured above) just the cutest?) Anyway, I'm proud to say that we (and by we, I mean One Direction...) won the Favorite International Video award for One Thing. Sir Jeff Joson of Ivory Music & Video (above) accepted the award, as MYX unfortunately forbade Ate Helen and I to get up onstage. I definitely had a good night watching the performances, live-tweeting, and going on a Spot-A-Celebrity hunt with Ozni and Ate Helen. The award will be brought to the Kiss You single CD launch slash summer fan party this March 23, 2013 at The Megamall Atrium so all 1D fans can take a photo with it. I'll hopefully be seeing you guys there. :)
