I got blo'd

Before anything else, I'd like to thank the people from Blo Blow Dry Bar Asia and the beautiful Nikita Conwi for inviting me to get blo'd at their newest branch at Megamall's Mega Fashion Hall last January 28 before they officially opened their doors to everyone. It was quite interesting to find myself in a bar with such a different concept behind it. According to them, 'Blo is North America’s Original Blow Dry Bar. Scissors are verboten. Dye, ditto. No cuts, no color: Just WASH BLOW GO.' And wash, blow, go it was.

Here's a little bit more background on Blo for you curious critters: Blo opened their very first bar way back in the 6th of June, 2007. They have about 36 locations worldwide: California (Beverly Hills + Carlsbad + San Francisco + W Hollywood + Porter Ranch + Tarzana); Connecticut (West Hartford); Florida (Miami - Brickell + Midtown); Louisiana (New Orleans); Massachusetts (Boston); New York (Manhattan - East 64th + East 72nd) + (Long Island); North Carolina (Charlotte); Texas (Austin - Fifth Street + Domain) + (Houston - The Woodlands); Alberta (Calgary); British Columbia (Yaletown + South Granville + Vancouver + Morgan Crossing); Ontario (Toronto: Yonge Street + Oakville + Bloor West Village + King Street West+ Vaughan + The Path + Bayview Village + Yorkville + Shangri-La Toronto); Manila (Rockwell + Serendra + Megamall); Russia (Moscow);

and are opening more branches in the following soon:

Massachusetts (Blo Seaport, Boston); DC (Blo Market Square, Washington); Louisiana (Shreveport); Maryland (Gaithersburg); Florida (Miami); UK (London). They're open as early as 7am and as late as 9pm (by appointment). Walk-ins accepted during regular hours, 7 days a week. All Bloers (aka Session Stylists) go through an intensive training program, affectionately known as Blo U(niversity), where they master Blo’s signature styles. The bar also offers more than in-house styling. Their signature Blo On The Go (BOTG service) comes to you on set, at work and at home.

I chose the 'pillow talk' style, which is described as sensual and innocent at the same time, also otherwise known as beachy waves. Since the bar is pretty much a hair styling hub, I asked the Bloer to braid my hair into a waterfall braid to add to the overall look, and also because I thought worked perfectly with the blow dried style I had chosen. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome! What do you think?

Their signature service, the Blo In-Bar, all costs php500. With Nikita, who I haven't seen in a while! It was so nice to see her again. She's a Radio1 DJ at RX93.1 and also blogs at NikitaConwi.com, so I do suggest you check her blog out. If you don't know what TSJ is, I'll let them do the explaining for you:
